About
Mindfulness-Based
Therapy
At the Austin Mindfulness Center, we know that you want to gain relief from your current pain so that you can be free to live your best life. It’s difficult to find peace, engage in satisfying relationships, and to pursue your dreams if you are caught up in depression, anxiety, or relationship conflict. The problem is that these conditions involve a cycle of thoughts, feelings and behavior that tend to become stronger over time without intervention. Combined with the stressors of your external environment, this can leave you feeling discouraged and hopeless to change your situation.
Perhaps you’ve gotten to the place where you just aren’t sure how to move forward. When you are consumed with the problems and the stress of life, it is hard to see and understand just what is holding you back.

The good news is that there is relief and there is a path forward for you. We believe that the concepts and the skills related to Mindfulness are the key to both understanding why you are where you are and for learning to change the patterns that got you there. Our approach is not about a quick fix, it’s about learning some fundamental truths about human nature that lead to suffering, and to learn to apply those truths to your life to bring about change and freedom. Our mission is to equip you with the tools that it takes to go beyond this moment of suffering.

We are a team of therapists who have dedicated ourselves to mindfulness both in our own lives and in our work with clients. We have seen the research results that speak to the effectiveness of mindfulness, but more than that, we have experienced its transformative power in our own lives.
We want to share this with you.
Individual Therapy
Our therapists can help with a wide range of symptoms and problems
Individual Therapy is a collaborative partnership between you and your therapist where you will explore what gives your life meaning and what seems to get in the way of living fully. Confronting these barriers both inside and outside the therapy office and developing new behaviors and responses to life's stressors leads to increased happiness, wellbeing, and courage to be the person you really want to be.
Mindfulness-based therapy requires your active participation. From time to time, you and your therapist will evaluate your progress and goals. An important part of your therapy will be practicing new skills that you will learn in your sessions. Your therapist may assign “homework” like exercises, journaling, or reading to deepen your learning. You will probably have to work on relationships in your life and make long-term efforts to get the best results. These are important parts of making personal changes.
